"The feeling of water is interesting. We drink it, we bathe in it, we brush our teeth in it; but when we're diving in it, we are almost weightless. Its a pretty intoxicating feeling. You have the force of gravity pulling down on you all day, every step you take - whether you know it or not, its creating tension in your body. When you're in the water, you don't have that."<br />

"Competition dives take all of your concentration. You have to focus only on what you're doing - but you also have to think about nothing at the same time. Nowhere else in my life do I get that opportunity, do I make that opportunity, to find complete silence in my brain"
